Creative Project Coaching for Writers

You have the idea. Now let’s move it forward.

You don't need another person telling you what you should write.

Sometimes, you need someone who can help you step back, see the bigger picture, work through the stuck places, and figure out what comes next.

I work with writers and creative project makers who have an idea, manuscript, or project they care about—but need clarity, momentum, accountability, or a thoughtful outside perspective to move it forward.

As a certified coach, author, and editing certificate candidate at Simon Fraser University, I bring together coaching, editorial knowledge, and practical project thinking to support you through the creative process.

You remain the author. You own the creative decisions. I'm here to help you make them.

Coaching + Editorial Perspective

Sometimes you need a coach.

Sometimes you need an editor.

And sometimes you need someone who understands the difference.

My professional editing studies at Simon Fraser University complement my coaching practice by giving me a growing understanding of manuscript development, structure, audience, style, and the editorial process.

That means I can bring an editorial lens to our conversations when it's useful—while keeping the coaching relationship focused on your goals and your creative ownership.

Coaching asks:

What do you want?

What's getting in the way?

What possibilities do you see?

What will you do next?

Editorial Thinking asks:

Who is this for?

What is the project trying to accomplish?

What is working?

Where might the manuscript need development?

The two perspectives can work beautifully together.

What coaching with me is and isn’t

Coaching is:

  • A space to think out loud

  • A way to get perspective on your creative project

  • Support for making decisions

  • Accountability for the commitments you choose

  • A collaborative exploration of what's possible

  • A place to work through the inevitable stuck points

Coaching isn’t:

  • Ghostwriting

  • Manuscript proofreading

  • A guarantee of publication

  • A replacement for therapy

  • Me telling you what your book should be

  • A formula for becoming a successful author

Your project stays yours.

My role is to help you become more intentional about the choices you make and the actions you take.

Why me?

Hello!

I'm a certified professional coach trained through Erickson Coaching International, an author, educator, and currently completing the Editing Certificate at Simon Fraser University.

My own creative work has given me a firsthand understanding of what it means to take an idea from "Wouldn't it be fun if..." to an actual creative project.

I recently collaborated with my son on The Pocket Dragons, taking the project through writing, revision, collaboration, and publication. I have an adult series that is set to launch in 2027, with additional projects in the works.

My professional background in education, business, and strategy also shapes how I approach creative projects: with curiosity, structure, and a focus on turning ideas into meaningful action.

I don't believe there is one right way to create.

I believe the best creative process is the one that helps you make the work you want to make.
